Windows 10: unexpected data loss

Hello, I have huge issue. I lost a large amount of data files and most of my apps like the calculator, calendar, camera, even Microsoft store do not respond, they just flash when i click on them. I do not know how this happened, and I do not know how to fix it. This computer is my lively hood, in addition when I click the app in the start menu it just flashes so i looked at the properties by right clicking and it does show file size, but when I go to settings for that app it has 0 bytes data- 0 bytes usage ect. I cant afford to buy the windows 10 home cd and my system is hp desktop all in one, the software is built in, I did not receive any installation disk when I purchased it. I have not been able to update windows, even the download tools from hp website will not load completely. Ive had this pc for 5 months and the 90 warranty for technical support for software is expired.

The process of conversion is quite tricky but not exactly that complicated. Suggested safe is to have your data cloned and work on the clone instead of the original. This suggestions and steps were provided by one of the Microsoft Community Forum MVP's,
