Unexpected HCONTENT.DAT files on C: when copying TV programmes to E:

My laptop has one SSD partitioned as C: & E:. The C: partition is running out of space so I'm trying to minimise its use for user files. I record Freeview TV programmes on a Humax PVR, trim them using VideoRedo and save them to a Synology NAS drive. Whereas previously I had downloaded programmes to C:, edited them and saved them to E:, today I successfully downloaded four programmes to E:. However, on trying to download the 5th, my computer warned that I'd run out of disk space. There's more than 100 GB available on E: and, on checking, it was the C: partition that was full.I ran WinDirSta

    Java.nio.file - Copying files

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one

    Associate .dat files to NotePad

    Hi Rick

Right click a dat file, choose 'Open With' - Choose Another App

Important - Check the box marked 'Always use this app to open dat . . .'

If Notepad is not in the list, scroll to the bottom and click 'More Apps'

Again if Notepad is not in the list, at the bottom, click 'Look for another app on this PC', then navigate to find the Notepad application in C:\Windows\System32
