Windows 10: Uninstall third party anti-virus first before Reset This PC??

I have a question about uninstall third party anti-virus on my desktop. I want to get the program of Windows Defender working again as that is the reason why I installed third party anti-virus program, Bitdefender just in case get malware virus on my desktop. I am planning to do Reset This PC and see if Windows Defender will work again after reset. Or do with clean install that will be better to have all clean with Windows 10 Pro 64-edition operating system. Should I uninstall third party AV before go next with Reset This PC or clean install? I know I have to get back up the files that I want to keep.

2) Do you get any error message, when trying to uninstall?



I suggest you to follow the below steps to uninstall Avira Anti-virus and check if it helps.

1) Press Windows key + x and select Programs and Features.

2) Right click on the Avira Anti-virus and select Uninstall.

The inability to turn on Windows Defender 8/10 is typically the result of having a third-party anti-virus installed or failure to remove it properly (completely). Since Windows 8/10 Defender includes anti-virus protection, it is

After removal of the third party anti-virus, Windows 8/10 Defender needs to be

What was the Anti-Virus program which you have uninstalled?

There is a possibility that some traces of that Anti-Virus still remains on your PC and you might need to run clean up tool.
