Windows 10: Uninstall

Hello,

I discovered my system had corrupted files I ended using the ISO file and DISM and was able to clean my system finally. My question: Is it possible to un-mount the the ISO ? Is it possible to delete the ISO, being as it has done for me what I was hoping, but I now do not need it ?

I decided to expand/clarify in a very brief summary of the above rant.

In my opinion, most error messages essentially say 'something went wrong' and leave the user clueless what to do next in order to avoid the error.

Consider creating useful error messages that could allow the user to actually address the error, on their own, rather than resort to a nearly endless runaround, flailing in the dark.

I appreciate your time and effort trying to fix the issue. Let’s try simple steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. I suggest you to boot the system in clean boot state and try uninstalling it.
Clean boot process will help you determine which third party program/app that is causing this issue. It could be some other application or programs, which runs on the computer at the background, leading to this issue. Please visit the below link

go to File Explorer > click This Pc > right side, do you see your iso mounted in a drive ?
If yes, Right click at it > click Eject.

Yes, you can delete it, if you want to.
But why not save it to an external media or hard drive ?
Who knows, you might need it in near future
A lot of people will even burn it to a bootable media ( DVD or USB ) for Clean Install or future use.

 

Thank you so much. I was able to eject the drive. I will take your advice. By chance I do believe your suggestion makes sense. I think I will put it on a DVD.

Make sure you use the proper type of program to burn the iso file.
If you are not sure, please post back.
