Windows 10: Uninstalled Printer Still Showing in Printers & Scanners

I have removed a printer but it is still showing in Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners as iP8700 series _D29A5A000000. Beneath the printer it says Driver is unavailable, grayed out so I can't click on it to remove it from there. When I physically removed the printer I removed all of it's software and drivers using the uninstall program that came with it, and also deleted any associated programs in Add & Remove Apps. I have removed any remaining remnants from the registry and there are no jobs pending in the print spooler. It doesn't appear in the Printers fo

Another method you may try is to uninstall and reinstall the printer. The following are the steps:



Remove your printer

• Select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Printers and Scanners.
• Under Printers & scanners, find the printer, select it, and then select Remove device.

Install or add a local printer

• Select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Printers and Scanners.
• Under Printers & Scanners, see if your printer is installed.
• If you don’t see your device, select Add a printer or scanner. Wait for it to find available printers, choose the one you want, and then select Add device.

On the other hand, we suggest also that you reach out the manufacturer of your printer/scanner for the driver availability or work around.

Printer Scanner

Hi TT,

As shown on the screen shots shown before, the printer is listed in devices, but doesnt appear with the Windows 10 printers and scanners section.

However, the printer does appear to be working at the moment, so I will let it be at that, just strange it should show on one listing but not the other.

Printer/scanner not showing in Windows settings - printers and scanners

My USB printer / scanner does not show in the list of printers but the scanner does show in the scanners section.

If I go to old style control panel devices and printers, the device shows in the Unspecified section with the following details





The device works absolutely fine with all programs. I presume Windows is not showing this device as a printer or scanner in settings because it is wrongly categorised. How do I get this to appear in the right places in settings?

I have Windows 10 Pro with the 1909 update installed.
