    Uninstalled programs showing in "Select which icons appear on the taskbar" list


    This is a relatively minor issue, but it's bugging the hell out of me.

    - Did a "reset" of a lenovo laptop, Mcafee livesafe is one of the pre-installed apps.
    - I uninstalled Livesafe from the standard windows 10 uninstall menu. It has left behind the option to disable / enable the tray icon for MCUICnt.exe in Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Select which icons appear on the taskbar.

    I have no idea where the items in this list live. I want to remove it.

    I have tried the following:
    - Uninstalling normally
    - I don't have the standalone installer for livesafe, so I installed the most recent Mcafee total protection, then uninstalled with revo uninstaller, nuking all the leftover files and registry entry it found, it didn't achieve the desired result.
    - Trawling the registry manually for mcafee and deleting relevant items (I have no live installs of mcafee software.)

    Any ideas?

    Bug where uninstalled programs aren't removed from tray icon list.

    If you right-click the taskbar > taskbar settings > taskbar > select which icons appear on the taskbar - there are uninstalled programs still listed. How do you remove them from this list?

    uninstalled items are still showing in under "Start Menu -> Settings -> Notifications & actions -> Select icons which appear on the taskbar",

    This question has been asked before, "I have a question, under "Start Menu -> Settings -> Notifications & actions -> Select icons which appear on the taskbar", how does one do maintenance on the list so it only shows items that are currently installed as
    it seems uninstalled items are still showing up on the list." However the answer has been tried but did not solve it for me. I still have uninstalled app icons showing up. I have deleted "iconstreams", there is no "pasticonstreams" to delete, I have ran registry
    cleaner, disk clean up, registry search for the apps, c:\ drive search for left overs etc etc etc to no avail. The icons or app shortcuts must be hiding somewhere but the question is where? Any help would be appreciated. The Ghost......
