Windows 10: Unknown Publisher for : "Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool 64-bit"?

Edge flags the file which I got from the Microsoft site as dangerous, and won't let me download it. Here is the URL:https://download.microsoft.com/download/2/C/5/2C563B99-54D9-4D85-A82B-45D3CD2F53CE/Windows-KB890830-x64-V5.91.exeSo I used Firefox instead- it came down swiftly. Then when I was about to run it, I noticed it didn't mention the publisher; says "unknown"- with that plus Edge itself flagging it as malicious, I decided not to run it. Was I almost a victim of a middleman attack, or does Edge usually flag Microsoft products as malicious? Similarly- I have a hard time believing

How funny, it would appear that Microsoft do read these forums!! I manually downloaded it as you suggested, and it is now running quite happily, and the website has since just been updated so that the page you refer to now reads "Malicious Software Removal
Tool For: Windows 10 64-bit and more..."!

I have recently upgraded my Windows 7 64 bit desktop to Windows 10, and Windows Defender has picked up and quarantined a Password Stealer, PWS:HTML/Phish.GD. I am using Windows Defender to run a full scan of my computer, but I wanted to run the Windows
Software Removal Tool as well and the Microsoft download page states "You are running Windows10 64-bit. Although Malicious Software Removal Tool will not run on your system, you can download Malicious Software Removal Tool for other operating systems." Is
there an equivalent Microsoft tool, or is Windows Defender intended to do the same job?
