Windows 10: Unknown Software Exception during Windows 10 Update

This is the message I got when trying to do the latest Windows 10 update. Screen keeps flashing on & off, too.

Hi there

Following the recent large Windows update, i get the following error immediately before I log on.

The exception unknown software exception ( 0xc06d007e ) occurred in the application at location 0x00000000776D722

No other changes were made to the system. I have windows 10 Home, v 1803

Any ideas?

 

Unknown software exception

After loading Windows 10 update to a new DELL Inspiron 15, I receive the following error, "The exception unknown software exception (0xc06d0073) in the application at location 0x0000000074630882." What does this mean and how can I address it? It is confusing
that the error message does not indicate "what" application generated it and "what" application encountered the exception.

I've just set up brand new Lenovo laptop running windows 10.

This error message keeps appearing:

The exception unknown software exception (0xc06d007e) occurred in the application at location 0x00000000743508B2.

Any ideas before I send it back and get a Chromebook??
