    Unknown USB Device Port Reset Failed - ASUS Xonar U7


    Hi,


    this issue seems to have been raised before, but unfortunately I cannot see any solutions....


    After upgrading Windows 10 now at 19041.84 my Asus Xonar U7 is no longer working.


    When plugging the device into the USB port I see activity and it appears in device list, but as unknown USB device.

    Hello all,

    I upgraded from Windows 7 Pro x64 to Windows 10 Pro x64 this week, build 10586.164. All is well except my external USB soundcard, an ASUS Xonar U7. The U7 had been working on my Windows 7 Pro system for about 15 months without incident. The same U7 still
    works fine today on a different Windows 10 machine (x86).



    On the recently upgraded machine, the soundcard will not enumerate in Windows. The VID and PID, etc are not read from the device. Consequently, it shows up as an Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed).

    On the other Win 10 machine, all the values are properly read.



    I have used multiple USB ports on the computer to no avail. I have used 3 different USB cables. No effect.

    The newest ASUS driver package will not install on the machine because the installer does not see the hardware.

    I have run the Connected Devices troubleshooter. Nada

    I have uninstalled the USB hubs and let them reinstall then update drivers. No change.

    I have spent a couple of days on this and need some help to get Windows to enumerate the U7 properly

    Hi,

    What is the make and model of the windows 10 computer?

    Have you applied all the latest chipset drivers after upgrading to Windows 10?

    Unknown USB Device usually means that there are no proper drivers especially for the motherboard. Therefore, I suggest to visit the manufacture website and install the latest chipset. Suggest to uninstall ASUS Xonar U7 driver and reinstall the
    latest from this link.
