Windows 10: Unnecessary Windows 10 Requirements

    Unnecessary Windows 10 Requirements


    I'm the only user of my machine, and frequently run into permissions requirements to open, or simply find file properties. In my case, at least, these things are time consuming nuisances, they contribute nothing to the safety of my setup and just waste time. I'm familiar with all the procedures to get around this for individual files or folders e. g. administrator privileges, security settings, etc but wonder if there is some setting perhaps via registry that would do away with these restrictions in all cases I may run into.


    As these things are just a waste of time for me, all help to eliminate them would be appreciated.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
