Windows 10: unwanted keyboard shortcuts activated by my cat??

hello all,


sometimes my cat jumps on my keyboard and somehow, with her paws, she turns on features on my computer i don't even know how to toggle on purpose. just now she stepped on the keyboard and suddenly i couldn't click anything with my mouse, only alt+tab through my open windows. i had to turn my computer off and on just to make it usable again. another time, she activated some function wherein, if i tried to type in the middle of a paragraph, it would overwrite the letter in front of it. there's more stuff, too, but i can't describe it succinctly. i don't even know why these functions exist, is there some way i can disable the keyboard shortcuts she's pressing to activate them, so i don't have to restart and lose my work every time she steps on the keyboard? also why are these an option at all?? please help!


p.s. i do use the app keyfreeze to lock my keyboard when i step away from my computer, but even when that app is turned on, she can still press keys to turn on airplane mode, power down my laptop, and even press the combo to turn off keyfreeze and wreak havoc on my computer all she wants. or she just rips the keys off, lol. and she doesn't even contribute around the house, either!! ...but that's a complaint for another time.

Keyboard shortcut to open the calculator

• Type "Calculator" in start menu.
• Click on Calculator and drag it to desktop.
• Right click on it and select Properties.
• Now go to Shortcut tab and add a shortcut.
• Click on OK.

Keyboard Shortcut For Volume Control

To better assist you with your concern, I'd like to know the following:

• Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
• Click OK

• What is the make and model of your computer?
• Are you using a laptop keyboard or external keyboard?

Adjusting the volume levels using the keyboard shortcuts depends if your device/keyboard supports media keys.

Meanwhile, let's try creating a shortcut key for the Master Volume. Refer to the steps below:

1. Right-click on an empty area on Desktop, then select
New and Shortcut.

2. Copy and paste the location below:

C:\\Windows\System32\SndVol.exe -T 76611119 0

3. Click on Next button and provide a name for the said Shortcut and click Finish.

4. Right-click on it and select Properties.

5. Assigned your desired shortcut key like F11 or F10 by just pressing it in the
Shortcut key area.

6. Click Apply and Click OK to save changes.
