    Update 20H2 Reset My Computer

Following the update, I found that it looked as though my computer had been reset. everything from my desktop background to my start menu shortcuts had been reset. Programs I run on startup like Rainmeter, discord, and steam didn't run and even were missing from my programs list. I use multiple hard drives, and the drive that houses my windows appeared as though it was wiped it wasn't. Opening the file explorer showed the documents and downloads folder as empty. I didn't get much further than this, I checked that the update installed successfully then promptly uninstalled the update and reve

  2. Update 20h2

    Hi Wicki,

I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 3 year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

20H2 should not be installed right-away on your device - MS said the rollout is only to a fraction of users and would be labeled as an optional update initially. Are you enrolled in WIP?

You may uninstall 20H2 using the steps below:

  3. Windows 10 fails to update

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

    Update 20H2 Reset My Computer

Update History is not showing v.20H2

    Hi Dominic

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

This is normal behavior in Windows 10, typically when you install a Feature Update like 20h2, the update history is wiped, this is to prevent the user from trying to uninstall an update that was prior to the Feature Update, which would de-stabilize Windows
10, the list should start building again, when some updates are applied to version 20h2 . . .
