Windows 10: "Update and Restart"

So my 1909 system automatically downloaded the 2004 update and got to the "Pending restart" stage. Since I don't want this update, I changed the target version to 1909 in GPO and deleted the contents of the Windows/SoftwareDistribution/Download folder. However, after several reboots, the update and restart button is still there and Windows update settings is telling me to restart. Will it go away after some time? Do I need to just wait for it to automatically check for updates again? (The check for updates button isn't there)

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

EMUI

Here's the steps to update EMUI 4.1.1 to 5.0 :

• Download the EMUI 5.0(desired version) .zip file, and unzip it.
• Place the .hwt file in the HWThemes folder from your phone.
• Using the Themes app, apply the new theme.
• Restart the phone, in order to see all the new changes.

And you’re done!

 

Windows 10 fails to update


When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
