Windows 10: Update caused Shadow on desktop icon text

Hello,
I just had a update on Win10 Pro 64b and it has made my desktop icon text almost unreadable as it has put a black shadow on the text. Any ideas please?

Drop Shadows on Desktop

I want to eliminate the drop shadows on the text under the icons on my desktop. I used the following procedure that hasn't worked:

- Control Panel, System

- Advanced system settings

- Advanced tab, Performance, Settings

- Unchecked "Save task bar thumbnail previews", "Show shadows under mouse pointer", "Show shadows under windows", and "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"

The drop shadows are still there. How do I get rid of them?

 

New Window 10 removed Advance in the Display

Yes, MS is making Win10 even less customisable than they did from the start.

You can still change the size of text and icons, but not text only, via
Display > Custom Scaling.

I haven't tried big increases, but small increases of 120-130 % have not caused any problems.

- My Win10 has black text on the desktop shortcuts, which I found difficult to read with some desktop background

images. White is similar, so while it's not as sharp as black, I'm using white text with black shadow, which can be

accomplished by enabling -Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop -

in Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Performance/Settings.
