Windows 10: Update error code 0x80080005

Hello and thank you for help.


I have an MSI GS65 Stealth Thin 8RE notebook.

I bought it in order to run software like Solidworks and other engineering software.

I'm running Windows 10 1903 OS Build 18362.592.


2 months ago, I started having problems with updating my laptop.

Every time I attempt updating, I get this error code 0x80080005


1 - I tried running the troubleshooter, but it will run endlessly with a message "checking for pending restart"


2- I tried some solutions like disabling and enabling some drivers using the command prompt, but it didn't work.


3- I checked Microsoft's website for tips fixing this issue, one of them was to check if there is an error triangle near any installed device in the device manager. I found that there is actually a device called "Radio Switch Device" that had an error code 19 associated to it, so I uninstalled it and then checked for hardware changes and then it appeared with no errors.


But still I attempted Windows update but the error is still there.


Can you please help me fix this issues? I don't want to search for further solutions online, because I'm afraid I would damage my device.

I cannot send nor receive emails and get the error code 0x80080005. Any suggestions?

Sorry? Have you got the correct Tweaking .com's repair tool? Or followed the steps to the end where you actually do the numbered repairs?




- If you had followed all the steps I'd have expected it to take a bit longer.

suggests the error number may occur where one of the OTHER drives has a problem.

Your specs don't say whether you have other drives installed.

Anyway, worth using Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) - the best text summary of such programs I've seen- to check your disks. Failing that check SMART params and do a surface scan with something else.
