    Update failed (0x80070003) from 1809 to 1903


    Hi,
    I've a problem to update Windows 10 from 1809 to 1903 with error code 0x80070003.
    I've tried :
    - To uninstall my AV (Bitdefender)
    - To rename the Software Distribution and Catroot2 folder
    - Windows Update
    - Windows Update Tool (In-place Upgrade and Iso)
    Each time the same error...
    I've retrieved the setuperr.log and setupact.log files from the $Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther and also ran SetupDiag.exe.
    I've uploaded the files to my Google Drive.
    In setuperr.log, I see :
    Code: Operation failed: Mount WIM file C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\SafeOS\winre.wim, index 1 to C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\SafeOS\SafeOS.Mount. Error: 0x80070003[gle=0x000000b7][/quote] Does anyone know how to fix this error (without a clean install)?

    Windows 10 pro 1809 to 1903 update fails

    yes it is the upgrade from 1809 to 1903 so its the 1903 that fails.

    Yes i did try the The Update Assistant, same error.

    If I upgrade using the Media Creation Tool will all my installed programs stay

    or will I need to reinstall everything again like with a fresh windows install?

    1903 fails 0x8000ffff

    Successfully installed 1903 on 3 comp0uters. Cannot install 1903x64 over 1809 on an Acer Aspire 5750.

    Fails with error 0x8000ffff.

    Things I have tried:

    Using Windows Update notification

    Using Windows Installation media

    Ran Windows update troubleshooter

    Deleted Softwaredistribution folder contents

    Clean boot

    Any suggestions?

    Windows Store keep on failing to update with 0x80070003

    Many thanks for your response. I tried doing the steps you have suggested but still I cannot update my apps in Windows Store. Like now currently I have 4 apps which keep on failing to update with the error code 0x80070003.
    Then when I try clicking check for updates it will add 3 more apps. Then I will try to update the 7 apps, the 3 newly added apps say completed but the 4 apps still have the Error Try that again, with the error code above. I will try to update again, and the
    same thing happens even after trying all the steps you have suggested.
