  1. Update freeze soon after reboot to apply update

I have had this issue for a few months and want to try update to 1809, since I am currently on 1803. It prepares the install on the OS fine, but once it reboots to start actually updating it just freezes and stays stuck on that screen infinitely. Everytime I get error 0xc1900101 - 0x20017, and from looking around it looks to be some driver issue, yet in device manager there are no visible issues.

I looked through other posts which suggested disabling virtualisation, and also created a install media on my USB, removed my Anti-Virus, all of which still leads to the same issue.

I am trying as hard as I can to avoid just clean installing win 10 back onto my PC, since installing back all the software etc is fairly time consuming.

If anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated.

    :)

Update freeze soon after reboot to apply update

    Vista Automatic Updating Error

    Resolution Suggestion:

    # To resolve this problem, make sure that BITS and the Automatic Updates service are started..

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

    1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

    3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

    4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

    6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

    7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.
