I Renamed SoftwareDistribution Folder Attempted Windows Updates still with Failures.

    I ran CMD ADMIN:

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    Also Ran CMD ADMIN: chkdsk C: /f /r /x

    Troubleshooter Errors

Windows Update MSDT.exe Error code: 0x80070057
    NetworkDiagnosticsNetworkAdapter - Error Code 0x800705B4
    MaintenanceDiagnostic Error code: 0x80070057

I Ran MSERT.exe found errors and fixed.

However, Windows still will not Update. I again Renamed C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\

SFC /scannow till has the same result error Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

    What can I do ?

    Appreciate Sound Advice, Doc

apps no longer in a verticle list but a grid after update mid march 2020

Aftera windows upgrade mid march 2020 I no linger have a vertical apps list but do have it selected in the setting. Instead I have to go to the top and select show apps and then they appear very much as that did in the vertical list but instead they
are on the right laid out as sort of a grid

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
