update KB4023057 in April 2022 created a new user name added number 2 etc.. with 870MB of data mainly under AppData with a lot of sub folders, but is this duplicate of the first user name data and can I or should I delete it?

I just noticed today that a subfolder named “Downloads” in my Downloads folder no longer exists. I looked in C:\Users\User1\Downloads\ folder and the C:\Users\User1\Downloads\Downloads folder is gone. I use Windows 10 File History for backup. I looked in File History to see when it disappeared. 2022-04-05 File History it is gone. 2022-04-02 File History was the last backup before 2022-04-05. Downloads\Downloads was in 2022-04-02 File History. I look in windows update history. KB4023057 Updated 2022-04-04. That had to be it. Downloads\Downloads is a “Cold Storage” folder I rarely access. That is why it took me this long to notice it. I do not remember any installs or uninstalls or any changes to my computer between 2022-04-02 and 2022-04-05 other than KB4023057 Updated 2022-04-04. I would remember any changes. So, I know I did not do anything to delete it.

Why would KB4023057 Updated 2022-04-04 delete this Downloads subfolder? Will this happen again?

Why would I have a subfolder named “Downloads” in the Downloads folder? Answer: I do not remember. I most likely created it when I had a Windows 98 machine. The very rare times I upgrade to a new computer I just move everything over to the new computer unchanged.

I currently run i7-4770 Haswell midtower, 15GB memory, ASUS Z87-A Motherboard, Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB video card. Windows 10 Pro (x64) Build 19044.1645. Windows firewall. I use my computer in a normal user account not an administrator account. I vigilantly keep everything updated. Or at least every three days I check EVERYTHING for updates.
