Windows 10: Update KB4480966

Good Afternoon,


I have a programme that I can not use because of this update KB4480966.


Can you please give me detailed instructions explaining how I can set my computer up so It will never install this update?

Cannot install KB4480966

I cannot seem to get KB4480966 installed.

1. Run windows update - pulls KB4480966, install reaches 100%, fails due to missing or corrupt files.

2. Run sfc scan - no issues found.

3. Run dism scanhealth - no component store corruption detected.

4. Try manually installing - "The following updates were not installed KB4480966"

5. Ran update troubleshooter - only found that KB4480966 wasn't installed.

6. Deleted all files from software distro download folder - windows update still fails at KB4480966.

7. Tried manually installing again - still fails.

8. Restored my PC, cleaned both drives and re-installed OS - windows update still fails at KB4480966.

Any ideas?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
