Windows 10: UPDATE KB4550945

I allowed my laptop to download update KB4550945 around the 26thApril.


It made my laptop almost un usable - but it allows a temporary profile with limited use


I tried to revert the machine to the earlier version but was not sucesful probably because removal of the latest update was prevented after 10 days.


I have two more similar laptops without this update which i notice is OPTIONAL both these laps work ok


I have tried to refresh the broken laptop keeping my files but at one stage the process is stopped with a message that my identity is not recognised and that a temporary profile has been alocated.


I am going to take my laptop to have a ssd installed and windows10 reinstalled without KB4550945


I wonder if this problem is recognised Microsoft

I am getting prompted for the kb4550945 update, what is it and is it worth it and will it cause any issues?

 

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
