  1. update side effects

Some weeks ago my headphones stopped working. I assumed they were defective and perhaps they are. My on-board audio still worked fine. Then, two days ago I discovered that I had no audio at all. No audio devices, no sounds possible. I surfed a little and read that a recent update was likely to have caused it. I downloaded and updated the latest update. Still no audio and no audio devices detected, not even on the motherboard. In addition - I had downloaded Win 7 style games. They had been unpinned from my task bar during the update. I found them in a folder named Windows.old. Now when I click on them nothing happens. I right clicked and chose "Run as Administrator" but nothing happens. No message appears or anything. I know this happened during the update. I'm concerned as to what else I am going to discover that was deactivated during this update. This is concerning. If this is the result of the update as it appears to be, the Microsoft team should do better than this.

    :)

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond update side effects :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
