Windows 10: update to 10 pro version 1809 ruined my laptop

I used win 10 update assistant to upgrade from 10 1703 to 1809. My first reboot after this resulted in a message " no bootable device" and it is stuck there permanently.

When i use F12 key there are n0 booting devices. Now the computer is not recognizing DVD or USB. The hard drive is listed with serial number etc.

I was using win 10 home 64 bit when this happened. This software came installed with an Acer Aspire 315.21 which I acquired just before Christmas 2019.

I do not care to save any files.

System boots up but as soon as the Acer logo shows up it shows message of no bootable device.

Can I restore this laptop to working order again.

Windows 10 update version 1809 fails to install and reverts back to version 1803 on my Surface Pro (5th) with windows 10 Pro

Windows 10 update version 1809 fails to install through Windows Update and reverts back to version 1803 on my Surface Pro (5th gen) with Windows 10 Pro. I also tried to manually install this update by deleting the Windows Update folder (Windows/SoftwareDistribution)
and downloading update 1809 from the Windows 10 Downloads site (Windows10Upgrade9252.exe).

Same problem : Download ok, install hangs at 84%, hits black screen, restarts the pc and reverts OS back to 1803.

After deleting the windows Update folder and eventhough this update 1809 failed to install, it does not show up as failed anymore and is also not found through Windows Update anymore.

* Some of my windows updates get installed in the Programs and Parts list, not in the Installed Updates list

(KB4023057 for example), Why is this happening and could this form a problem with updating to version 1809 ?

 

Worth updating to Windows 10 version 1809?

Hi.

I would like to know if it is worth updating to Windows 10 version (vers.) 1809.

I have that version on a Windows Surface Pro (no issue found).

I'm also currently under Windows 10 vers. 1803 (fully updated) on a laptop.

With all the problems I hear about that version (1809), I'm unsure if it is worth updating.
