Windows 10: Update to 10130 No sound drivers won't install

As above my rig updated to build 10130 I had no sound (SoundBlaster Zx) played around a bit but couldn't get it to work, so I uninstalled it and now it will not reinstall.
I have run a cleaner so it got rid of all creative stuff tried again but no good, any ideas please ?

None of these solutions work for me.

I've clean installed the 10130 installed the drivers rebooted and updated and rebooted. All 10130 updates are in place up to Kb3070677. I've even uninstalled the Kb3070677 and ran the updates to confirm update is working. and it is. but cant get anything
beyond 10130.

Any other possible solutions other than just wait till 29th?

i've been getting this since Insider build 10160, and 10240 (and possibly one in between 10130 and 10160), no matter if i install from an SHA-1-verified burned ISO, natively mounted ISO (in 10130), USB stick, or even legitimately (and freshly installed and)
activated 7 install.

10130 works perfectly fine (in most aspects. there may have been a GPU driver issue until i updated to a 10 RTM driver set).

this is getting a bit old, Windows team, as i've probably made 12-16+ upgrade/install attempts.

 

I've had lots of issues with SoundBlaster drivers in the past.. that could be the issue. In this case a re-install of Win10 may be needed but I'm sure other will have a better answer.. good luck.

 

Have you tried installing it in a Compatibility mode, for whatever OS version the drivers are for?

I am using SB XFi. Prior to 10130. MS install the default driver for it but in 10130, XFi driver was installed. Initially, I did not have any sound so I opened the Device Manager->Sound and disabled then re-enabled then got the sound.

@OP, you might want to download the driver from Creative. The whole package is probably an exe file, just right click and extract it to a folder then search under Drivers->wdm, there should be an .inf file there, just right click and select install.
