    update to v1903

Have tried many times to update to v1903 and received the error 0x80070005 0x200a

The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during PREPARE_FIRST_BOOT operation

Can anyone explain what the problem is?

What happens if I cannot update and remain at v1809?

    :)

System Thread Exception not handled error while updating to Windows 10 Feature update v1903

I will answer my own question.

0xC1900101 error on the event viewer suggests that driver problems caused the windows upgrade to v1903 to fail. Natural next step would be to upgrade to the latest drivers for the motherboard.

On gigabyte website for the motherboard B450-AORUS-PRO-WIFI, the latest drivers for bluetooth and WiFi is written for Windows 10 v1809. The most logical explanation at this point is that the drivers for bluetooth and WiFi is causing the installation problem because they are not written to support v1903. I cannot verify if this is the exact cause until Gigabyte releases the drivers for Windows 10 v1903.

B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.0) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global

I write this answer as reference. It may be helpful to other people who are having similar problems with Gigabyte B450-AORUS-PRO-WIFI motherboard.

Edit: I have finally solved the problem.
The culprit was unexpected. After I uninstall Avast Anti-virus software, I am able to upgrade to v1903. I have also installed all the latest drivers of Gigabyte B450-AORUS-PRO-WIFI motherboard available on their websites.

  3. New Security PopUp after v1903 update

Thanks for these. I see these solutions will exclude checks on all files, including exe - and will generate a message in the Notifications.

It seems that this is an unusual step to be needed when upgrading to v1903.

In this article, How to disable Open File security warning on Windows 10 , Solution 3 suggests that there is a registry key, LowRiskFileTypes, that would
exclude files from the Security Warning?

If that key was previously used and was removed in v1903, that would explain the issue more reasonably.

This seems to be a much more targeted solution and allows the user to specify which type files to exclude (images only, for example).
