Windows 10: Update to version 1703 Build 16199.1000 fails

I am running build 16193.1001 on a Sony Viao laptop (SVE14A27CXH). 16193.1001 installed on 5/12/17 without any issues.

On 5/18/17 build 16199.1000 was downloaded and installed via Windows update. There were no error messages during the update process but in update history is shows that the update failed (11 attempts). Each time the update was rolled back to 16193.1001.

I ran Reset_Reregister_Windows_Update_Components.bat and restarted but the update still fails.

Ideas?

Same problem here, I have tried many things

0x800f081f Error for DirectX 3.5 (Includes 3.0 and 2.0)

I keep getting this error. I've tried fixing the Windows Update, tried using the flash image with Command Prompt, and everything else.

My OS is Windows 10, Version 1703, Build 16199.1000

 

Check the event viewer - system log
If you see an error with failed to grant local activation to application with clsd {some number} and possible a second {some number} then
1. open regedit with administrator priviliges
2. copy the {some number} from the log and find it in registry
3. right click the found key in registry
4. select permission and then advanced
5. change owner to [your pcname]\Administrators
6. Apply
7. Change group Administrator to full control
8. ok

do this for all the id's and then update and restart.
This worked for me..
