Windows 10: Updated (and Failed) 1803, not updated to 1809

I don't understand this: The update to Version 1809 was released 09Oct2018.

On my wife's computer, after the first attempt failed, a retry was offered; I took it, and later there was a "Restart" icon, so I clicked on it, after noticing something odd in the names of the updates about to be installed. When that was done, I found that KB4462919 and KB4100347 were both installed, and are shown as updates to Version 1803. Computer is now shown as up-to-date.

On my computer, KB4462919 failed to install (apparently twice,) KB4100343 does not show as having even an attempted installation, and computer is shown as up-to-date.

In neither case was an update to version 1809 offered.

Explanation(s) solicited.

Windows 1809 Started the install on Surface Pro 4 but it stopped and the update screen closed by itself.

It started the download of 1809 and I walked away. Came back twenty minutes later and the update page was no longer open. Tried update again and it said it's updated.

It didn't complete the update or state the RESTART NOW.

Update history lists 1809 and states RESTART REQUIRED but since it didn't complete the install restarting does nothing.

So it thinks it's installed the 1809 update but it hasn't. It won't download 1809 again.

ABOUT say's it is 1803.

Suggestions?

Hi guys,

sorry to hijack the thread.

I have the same issue and MS suggest to hide the 1803 update and wait for the 1809.

But in the "wuhowhide" software, the update 1803 is not listed.

The result is an infinit loop of update, restart, rollback, update, restart, rollback.....

Also, how do I share the OneDrive folder when I do not have the "Share a OneDrive link" alternative in the right click menu.

Please advice.

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.
