Windows 10: Updated W8.1 PC to W10

The Update process went smoothly when checking out basics were OK received a odd message when attempting to open Mozilla Firefox "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window" Firefox was definitely not running. I uninstalled Firefox v89.0.2 and reinstalled and received the same message

New Pc old Key (W8 that I got free upgrade to W10)

Hi, this one is tricky.

I had this same key since W7. Bought the update to W8. And in 2015/2016 I've got a free update to W10.

I had to sell my computer 2 years ago. I have saved the key but it's wasn't upgraded since it had a updater software.

If I'm not mistaken, when I used to format the PC, I had to install w8 and it would upgrade to w10 after installing w8. :-(

How do I know if my Key still works? What version should I download? I'll get my new pc tomorrow.

Now that W10 is out, are you a W7 / W8 refusenik?

So has anyone else that is holding out encountered what I did yesterday (page 12-http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/t...a-w7-w8-refusenik.214726/page-12#post-3356757) about Windows Update now forcing the W10 download for anyone who doesn't check, at the expense of not even having the "important" update items selected?
