Windows 10: Updates 1803

How do I get MS to stop trying to update with 1803? They have tried 27 times and failed because 1803 is not compatible with my Toshiba laptop and its SSD's? I have taken to not turning off the power and have set the defaults to "never shut down" to prevent re-starts. But it seems conveniently I lately have experienced the BSOD which forces me to shut down.


I understand some updates are necessary, but the one that keeps coming back is 1803, what can I do?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

• What is the make and model of your PC?
• How did you upgrade your computer to Windows 1803?
• Did you get any error messages?
• Do you have a 3rd party antivirus installed on your PC?

Normally, if your PC meets the requirements for the upgrade, it will be offered to you. If your PC doesn't have an incompatible hardware, then we can proceed with troubleshooting steps.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
