    Why is there no option to turn off updates in windows 10? I get an update and Opera and Firefox get so slow that I can hardly use them. I uninstall a pile of updates and it goes fine until I get the updates again, then it is slow all over again. I get piles of updates at once and it takes hours to uninstall them. I am considering going with another OS and forgetting windows crappy software. This is the last time and then I am finished!!!

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    I will try that... do you think I have complete access to replace the monitor cable without dismantling the laptop from step 1? *Eek! updates and laptops :eek:
