Windows 10: updates on my Lenovo Idea pad are causing major problems

ON 12/28/18 - I STARTED THE WINDOWS 10 UPDATE VERSION 1809. IT LASTED HOURS. THE NEXT MORNING, THE COMPUTER WAS STILL ON AND SAID TO "RESTART". CLICKED YES. WHEN IT STARTED UP THERE WAS A MESSAGE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN SAYING "UNDOING CHANGES TO COMPUTER". SINCE THEN, IT HAS HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES TOO EXTENSIVE TO LIST. THE WORST WAS ON 1/7/2019. I WAS CREATING A DOCUMENT IN WORD AND IT SUDDENLY STARTED ADDING AN UNENDING LINE OF BRACKETS THAT WOULD NOT DELETE. COULDN'T CLOSE ANY APPS OR SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER. HAD TO HIT THE POWER BUTTON TO SHUT DOWN. WHEN I BOOTED BACK UP, MY PASSWORD BOX WAS FILLING WITH CHARACTERS THAT WOULDN'T LET ME ENTER MY PASSWORD. AFTER MULTIPLE TRIES, WAS ABLE TO GET IN BUT EVERYTHING WAS HINKY. BELOW

How to enable touch screen function on Lenovo ideapad 500

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to enable touch in Lenovo idea pad. Please perform the steps and check if you can enable your touch screen.

Steps:

• Right click on the Start Menu, locate and click on
  Control Panel.
• Click on View by: Category and change it into
  Large or Small Icons.
• Click on Pen and Touch, once there click on theTouch tab and check the option
  “Use your finger as Input Device”.

Cooling Pads for Laptops

I think the pads are great for heat dissipation but with intake slots on the bottom and it could cause some problems. For gaming laptops I would suggest a full USB/12V powered fan laptop cooler.
