Windows 10: Updates- up to date or not?

Hi. Maybe a small not small? problem here. My Windows was doing a Security Intelligence Update for Windows Defender Antivirus but the installation failed I think because I turned off my laptop while it was doing that... stupid I know, but I didn't know that's ill-advised and I needed to transport it somewhere and keep it closed for a while. So, my update and security menu gave me the option to retry so I clicked "retry." It checked for updates and then said I'm all up to date. However, in my update history, there is a failed installation for the security intelligence update.

So, is this something I should worry about? I use McAfee, so Windows Defender is not turned on and I'm not even using it. Still, it would be great to have Windows Defender be up to date as a backup. Will I get future Windows Defender updates and will they update correctly if I don't fix it??

If I click "uninstall updates," would I be able to reset that update and start it over? I'm too afraid to click it without some advice.

• Are you referring to Office Outlook (Mail client version)/ Mail app/ Windows Live Mail?
• What is the complete error message/ error code of this issue?
• What is the exact issues you are facing?
• What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue?

If you are referring to Windows Mail app, let us try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to check if there are any updates for Mail app in Windows Store. If found try to update the app.

Step 2: I suggest you to run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter,
troubleshoots problems that may prevent Windows Store Apps from working correctly.

Step 3: I suggest you to check with the system Date, time and Time zone
is set correct.

Follow the steps to set the date and time:

• Type Date and Time in the search bar.
• Click Change date and time button.
• Click Apply and Ok to save the date and time.

Note: Click on the Time Zone tab to check the Time Zone.

I prefer alphabetical myself as some are totally TBA I guess. Don't know, not my list. Could even be sorted into a Genre - Release Date - Alphabetical order. Then again alphabetical is easy enough. Make some suggestions to the OP.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
