I've tried using Windows Update, repairing Windows update, using Windows Media Tool to create a bootable USB for a clean install, unplugging all peripherals including mouse and keyboard, reseting BIOS settings to defaults. No matter what I try, when booting to setup after installation through Windows Update, or when booting from the USB ISO the system hangs on the Windows logo for hours with no spinning dots and no hard drive activity. All I can do it hit the reset button. When trying to install via Windows Update and having to do a hard reset when it locks up, the resulting error code I find is 0xc1900101.

Below seems to fix most users issues



The fix for older boards (seems mostly Asus related) is disabling VT-d/disable all virtualization features seems to correct the issue (if it does not its not related to this problem) seems Asus or some board makers are not implementing it correctly

Maaaaaaaaan 1803 is pile of poo

Some people have problems with edge, others with ie, chrome, and other apps. Hangs freezes, crashes. Microsoft says they will fix this crap on May 8th

How to fix freezing issues in Windows 10 April 2018 Update

My Win7 logo use to freeze right when the 3 dots start rotating. For a good 30-60 seconds. Then windows loads.

I changed my Graphic Card and it fixed the freezing logo.
