Windows 10: Updating to Windows 10 version 1903 results in Error 0x80070002 or GSOD with WDF Violation

Hi,


I'm trying to update my version of windows to 1903 so I can install the Xbox (Beta) app for Games Pass on PC. I'm currently running 1803 with OS build 17134.829. When I go to Settings, Update and Security and then Windows update and try to update it says this: "Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903 - Error 0x80070002"


As I was getting this error I decided to download the stand alone, Windows 10 Update Assistant App... this works, it downloads and installs...etc But when it finishes and restarts it loads and then throws me to a Green Screen of Death (GSOD) which is the Insider Build equivalent of BSOD. This screen states: "Your Windows Insider Build ran into a problem and needs to restart. Stop code: WDF VIOLATION"


I've also tried running "SFC /scannow" in Command Prompt, which goes fine until it doesn't which results in this log being created (just end of log pasted due to to length, important part of log would be "C:\WINDOWS\Servicing\Packages\Package_for_KB4480979~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.1.0.mum [HRESULT = 0x80070002 - ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND]" As a note I don't have an amd cpu, I have an Intel x64 cpu.

If there's anyone out there who could help with this or may have run into similar issues that would be amazing, I'd love to get this Insider Build installed so I can start using the new Xbox App and make use of Xbox Games Pass on PC.​

Can't open Windows Sandbox Error 0x80070002


Microsoft has acknowledged this issue now:

Windows Sandbox may fail to start with error code “0x80070002”Windows Sandbox may fail to start with "ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND (0x80070002)" on devices in which the operating system language is changed during the update process when installing Windows 10, version 1903.


Affected platforms:

• Client: Windows 10, version 1903

Next steps: We are working on a resolution and estimate a solution will be available in late June.

Windows Sandbox seems fragile on 1903 for a bunch of reasons; mine won't start with a different error code.

Feedback Hub reports for "Windows Sandbox won't start" mention about 25 different error codes experienced.
