Windows 10: Upgrade 1809 to 1903 stopcode failure

I have an HP ENVY All-in-one 27b2XX with i7 2.40 Ghz and 16 GB of Ram that's a little over a year old that I've tried three times to upgrade from 1809 to 1903 and has failed before the first reboot takes place. I get a blue failure screen that lasts for about 10 seconds before closing that says something to the effect that I should go to "windows.com/stopcode" to determine the reason. Been there; no help. Windows says I'm up to date on changes and I have unplugged everything but an HP printer from USB ports. Very frustrating! Wish I could simply load the Chrome OS onto this thing and eliminate Windows from my life. I've already got rid of 2 Dell laptops in favor of Chromebooks and have absolutely no problems with updates. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME!!!

KB4023057 after upgrading Windows 10 from 1809 to 1903

My 64-bit desktop computer running Windows 10 Home 1809 has been successfully upgraded to 1903.

After the upgrade, when running "Programs and Features" from Control Panel, I noticed that "Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB4023057)" is still in the installed list.

As far as I know, this "feature" does not apply to 1903, so :-

1) Should the upgrade to 1903 have automatically uninstalled it?

2) Should I uninstall it?

 

Upgrading a PC from 1803 to 1903 using the upgrade tool failure with error code 0xc0000005.

I was upgrading a PC from 1803 to 1903 using the upgrade tool.

The reason the PC had not been upgraded to 1809 was the old Intel drivers. New Intel drivers were installed and the Settings/Upgrade indicated that the PC could be upgraded to 1903. I downloaded the tool and ran the upgrade on to end with a failure notice
with the error code 0xc0000005.

This is an Asus board OEM PC with an older i7 processor and 16GB of RAM. There are no adapters on the board. Video and NIC are built on to the board. All checked out OK with current or updated drivers prior to the attempt to install 1903.

I have run the Windows Update troubleshooter. It said it fixed something and I tried to install again.

Again the upgrade ended with a failure notice with the error code 0xc0000005.

I have no idea where to look.

For all steps please follow in kind with the number to make sure all steps are completed.

For device manager see the upper left corner menu area > click view > click show hidden devices > manually expand all rows > look for any row displaying a yellow triangle with black exclamation mark or unknown device > post images into the thread

There is no need to perform windows upgrades until communicated in the thread.
