Windows 10: Upgrade a 2008 server in Hyper v vm to 2012 server

I am running hyper v manager on my windows 10 pro pc. I am running 2008 server on the hyper v manager and I want to upgrade it to 2012 server. When I click on the install now button it does the copy files but does not go to the windows update window to continue the install

Hyper-V VM server licensing

Hello,

We have a VM running a 2012 R2 OS and are having an issue applying the license we have purchased.

I was advised that a 2019 standard license would work for licensing a 2012 server and this is not working when typing in the key to the VM.

Can anyone point out what could be the issue, maybe I'm supposed to type the key into the Hyper-V host?

 

Hyper-V and Windows Server 2012 R2/ and 2016

Have this weird problem recently.

Can't access some sites in Windows Server 2012R2 and Server 2016 VM, on Hyper-V, via the Default Switch(NAT).

And the sites it can access, like google.com and facebook.com , are taking time to load.

This issue is only with these two servers, Win10 vm works fine and can access all sites, Server 2008 was tested too and can access all sites, as well as Ubuntu 16.04.

What could be the problem, I've searched google upside down and can't find anything on this issue?

Is there some update missing for these two servers?

Tried disabling all defences on host PC, and disabled firewall, without any results.

 

Can't Install Windows 10 1607 virtual machine Guest on Server 2008 R2 Host

I have successfully got it working on a Server 2012 R2 Hyper V server.

The issue is that it won't work on a Server 2008 R2 Hyper V Server.
