Upgrade from 1809 to 1903 seems to be in a loop

I decided today to install the 1903 upgrade from 1809.

At first all went well, preparation seemed normal and then the download started which went along smoothly until it got to 99%. The download has been sitting on 99% for hours.

If I check Task Manager and Resource Monitor, Windows Update is using around 30% of the CPU. Nothing much else is happening. The Disk will show some activity, but not much and the Network also shows some occasional activity but neither are what I would expect during a download.

The download speed of the Internet connection is around 40Mbps, which is good. Neither the computer nor the Router is being used for anything else during this upgrade so the upgrade has access to 100% of the resources.

Any thoughts...? Should I just be patient...? How long will this take...? I am not in a hurry but this is not the behavior that I have experienced in the past with feature updates.

    T......*Confused

    :)

Win 10 Pro 64 1809 to 1903 update stuck in endless install loop

bios definitely latest release, which is pretty old, really. Sata 5 & 6 are sacrificed to use 4X on the M.2 slot that sticks out (ie better cooling) and that is fine, disabled them. Tried both windows and latest Samsung NWMe drivers during original failures, am on Windows one atm so will try Samsung when given the verifier overnight to run, no issue yet after 2 hrs. The other two drives are the 200Gb 840 Pro (OUpgrade from 1809 to 1903 seems to be in a loop :) and 500Gb 850 Evo (CUpgrade from 1809 to 1903 seems to be in a loop :), both SATA and running fine, apart from the minor errors encountered.

It must be time to go round the 1903 loop again, just to see. But I haven't quite finished off the original task list...

Went round 1903 loop again, same deal. Have stopped verifier after 18 hrs; couldn't figure out how to make it more aggressive as suggested, but it seems a bit like running MemTest for 4 days and expecting a different result...? It never is!
Finished drive tests, except wasn't going to let Seatools waste hours on the 4Tb drive since chkdsk has done that, pic as follows:

I would try a 1903 media creation tool next but still can't find that - must be a legit Insiders copy somewhere? So will try a repair install of 1809 and see what that gets...

  3. Cannot upgrade back to 1903 after a 1809 rollback

I upgraded to Windows 1903 and it caused an error with Trend Micro & PDQ Deploy so I used the rollback feature to take me back to 1809. Now I cannot go back to 1903. If I search for Windows Updates it says I'm all up to date. It also says that I already
have 1903 installed but my version is clearly 1809 when I type 'winver'.

How do I fix this, I want to upgrade without fresh installing Windows.

  4. Upgrade from 1809 to 1903 seems to be in a loop

    W10 1809 to 1903 update

Lenovo ThinkCentre E73, I have updated from W10 1809 to 1903 and the PC has now gone really slow and having issues with admin rights, I have chkdsk'd and scannow'd' but no issues found. Tried an inplace update in case windows was corrupted and get the
message some hardware on this PC is incompatible with 1903 update. Can anyone shed any light in these issues please. I have had to revert to 1809 to make the PC usable again. Any suggestions please ? Microsoft have said Lenovo are responsible and Lenovo have
said Microsoft is responsible, which does not help me one bit.
