Windows 10: upgrade from 20H2 Build 19042.630 to 21H1

Discus and support upgrade from 20H2 Build 19042.630 to 21H1 in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; Many cumulative update packages have failed to fail to install on my system with the error code 0x800f081f since the October 2020 release of v20H2....     upgrade from 20H2 Build 19042.630 to 21H1


    Many cumulative update packages have failed to fail to install on my system with the error code 0x800f081f since the October 2020 release of v20H2. None of the published 'fixes' for this brought any success.With the May release of v21H1, I decided to use the Windows Update Assistant to upgrade to the latest release.The upgrade proceeded but did not allow an upgrade keeping setting/apps etc ...The same result occurs after downloading the ISO and attempting an in-place upgrade.The specs on v21H1 released by Microsoft state that update KB5003173 must be installed on the system

    Regarding 2H20 Windows 10 update

    You are getting a bit confused.

    20H2 ==> Build 19042.

    21H1(presumably)==> Build 20246 or later. This is Dev Channel.

    Both are different release branches. Dev channel Insiders got 20H2 ages ago(perhaps never).

    Same ERROR 0x800f081f and tried many ways to clean up update info, but no solution so far.
