  1. Upgrade from Office 2013 to 2019 troubles Part 3

I wonder how come I am the only one posting these weird issues I am having with an office upgrade but the bright side is its all coming to a conclusion now .

So after solving the Outlook issue in part 1 and New issue in part 2 now there seem to be an odd symptom that all I need is a confirmation on .

There are several services that managed to install along with Office 2019 of these are
    SDXHelper
    Recognizer
    Click To Run
    CoreWorker
and all of these try to constantly connect to the internet .

I have had two rumors from my readings , one of which are some of these services install to allow the co-existence of multiple office installations , the other is that these are data collection Telemetry services and would have installed weather I had office 2010 or not , so which rumor is more accurate ?

I am kind of sure about Click to run and CoreWorker to be both bundled with standalone office installation despite I really don't know of a valid use for any of them , but what about the rest ? they come along too ?

    :)

Upgrade from Office 2013 to 2019 troubles

I installed Office 2019 Pro Plus with Office 2010 Pro already on two computers. No problems with the installation. If I did it again I would have uninstalled the old version of Office first. I suggest you do the same thing by uninstalling the old version of Office first.

BTW, when I first installed Office on my laptop I was perplexed. Their were two versions of all the Office apps on it. I had forgotten that the laptop had come with a trial of Office 365. I went back and uninstalled all versions of Office. When I went back and reinstalled the new version of Office everything was OK.

  3. Upgrade from Office 2013 to 2019 troubles

I managed to upgrade two laptops lately to office 2019 , the first was on office 2016 which upgraded without troubles , the second was on 2013 , now this one however gave me so much troubles as it crashed one installation of windows beyond recovery , and on the other installation it managed to install but keep an intact copy of office 2013 present on system .
Is this the norm with such an upgrade ? to have two copies of office ?

Upgrade from Office 2013 to 2019 troubles Part 2

    Hi there

    @nIGHTmAYOR

It's simple backing up / copying / moving outlook data , accounts, files and contacts. Why Ms never documents this essentially simple process is totally beyond me. Just follow the steps below. You need to know the passwords as these will not be copied and have to be re-entered (step 10).

    1) Open Registry.

    2) Navigate to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Profiles]

    3) Export ALL the profiles to file e.g o2013.reg

    4) If you have an old .pst file from Office 2013 save it.

    5) Uninstall COMPLETELY all versions of Office -- not just OUTLOOK

    6) install OUTLOOK 2019 / OFFICE 2019 from scratch -- Don't set up any email accounts yet.

    7) import the .reg file created in step 3) using registry editor (just double click on e.g o2013.reg).

    8) start Office 2019 and select default profile at prompt and make it default one.

    9) it may appear to hang ist time -- close and restart Office2019

    10) you will now get prompted on all accounts for your passwords.

    11) Job done -- emails, contacts etc the lot.

Note on IMAP you don't need to keep the old .pst file if you move the emails in it to alternative folders but you do need it for the initial setup.

    Cheers
