Windows 10: upgrade from Vista to 10 - and graphics driver

I want to upgrade my Medion Akoya E4320 D from Vista to Windows 10 with a clean install. I meet the requirements apart from the driver for the Graphics card.


The requirement is DirectX 9 or later, and I have DirectX 11 NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GS.

The requirement is WDDM 1.0 Driver. Mine wasn't, and I'v now deleted it by trying to upgrade it from the NVIDIA site.


Is there anyway to get and install WDDM 1.0?

Or can I update the driver after I've installed Windows 10?

Windows 10 (upgraded from Vista to 7 to 10) graphics problem

As per the description, I understand that you are facing graphics problems after upgrading to Windows 10.

This issue must be occurring due to an outdated or corrupt graphics card driver. I suggest you to uninstall the graphics card driver from the computer and install the driver in compatibility mode to resolve the issue.



Step 1: Uninstall the existing drivers.



a) Press “Windows Logo” + “X”.

b) Click on “Device Manager”.

c) Search for the Graphics Card drivers from the device list and right click on it and select “Uninstall”.

d) Follow the on-screen instructions and restart the computer when you are prompted.

e) Press “Windows Logo” + “X”.

f) Select “Programs and Features” and search for the graphics drivers and associated software in the program list.

g) If they are listed, then select then and then click on “Uninstall”.

h) Follow the on-screen instructions and restart the computer when prompted.



Step 2: Download and install the latest graphics card drivers from the manufacturer’s website and install them in compatibility mode.

Now, to install in Compatibility Mode, follow these steps:

a. Locate the executable file (.exe file) for the driver installation program.

b. Right-click the file, and then click Properties.

c. In the Package Name Properties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab.

d. Click to select the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box, click Windows 8 with which it is compatible with in the Run this program in compatibility mode for list, and then click OK.

e. Double-click the executable file to start the installation program.

I request you to try the following steps:

Uninstall and Reinstall the Graphics Card Drivers.

Step 1: Uninstall the Graphics Card
Drivers

  Right click on Start menu.
  
• 
  Click on “Device Manager” from that list.
  
• 
  Search for the Graphics Card
  from the device list, right click on it and then select “Uninstall”. On the un-installation window, if you have an option: “Delete the driver software for this device” you may select that and then remove the corrupted drivers
  from the computer.
  
• 
  Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it and then restart the computer if prompted.
  

After the restart, please go ahead with the next steps to install the latest drivers and check if that resolves the issue.

Step 2: Go to the Computer or Graphics Card
manufacturer’s website and search for the latest Windows 10 drivers available for the
Graphics Card model and then install it by following the instructions given in the website.

This issue might have caused due to the outdated drivers of the Graphics display card.

Let's try the below steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

I would also suggest you to update graphics drivers.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager.

  Search for Display Adapters and expand it.
  
• 
  Right click on the graphics driver
  and select Update driver software.
