Windows 10: Upgrade from Win 7 failed in SAFE_OS phase during MIGRATE_DATA operati

Hi. I am trying to upgrade from Win 7 Ultimate to Win 10 Pro, while retaining my data.

I repeatedly get the error above with error codes 0x80070011 - 0x2000D.

I have quite a number of errors logged in the "C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setuperr.log" file, but the last items are always:

I ran CHKDSK /R /V. I ran SFC /SCANNOW. I suspended Bitlocker. I have no non-Microsoft anti-virus or firewall. I ran all Windows 7 updates.

For what it's worth, this system does not have a D: drive - as referenced in the error log. The SSD does have a Dell 'RECOVERY' partition.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Windows10 not installing and going back to my Windows 7.

 

Failed Win 7 to 10 upgrade Safe_OS Phase

I am trying to upgrade from Win 7 pro to Win 10. I've made sure I am fully patched, AV off or uninstalled, tried both ISO and USB media. It stopps and reverts after the second boot each time with the failure SAFE_OS phase. It's a Dell XPS 8300 2 TB drive.

While reinstalling windows 10 because of corrupt registry database in original install the upgrade failed while copying files at 13%. Windows restored my previous version. Code 0x800700004-0x2000D Message was : The installation failed in the SAFE_OS
phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation.
