Windows 10: Upgrade Windows 10 Failure With Error OX80004005 -- Update boot code error

There is a locked thread on this that started in May, 2019. After several exchanges the thread ended with no resolution. Has anyone managed to make any progress? Or do we just have to live with this "Countdown to goodness" pop-up every hour? Thanks.

Error code Ox80004005

2 days agi I allowed a windows 10 upgrade. It took forever to finish so it must have been significant. Today I am unable to burn CDs on my DVD/CD burner and get error code Ox80004005.

Can anyone help?

Results from yesterday - SFC / Scannow - Windows Resource protection did not find any integrity violations.

Update Assistant ran and failed with the same error as previously:-

Error: SetupDiag reports down-level failure found.

Failure Data: Last Setup Phase = Finalize

Last Setup Operation = Update Boot Code

Error = 0x80004005-0x50015
