  1. Upgraded to SSD from HDD. Installed Windows 10 from USB. No Audio

    Hello everyone.

i have an old Asus k53e that had an HDD in it. Originally loaded with windows 7 then upgraded to 8(whyyyyy) and then to Windows 10.

While on the upgraded HDD I had realtek HD audio drivers.

Installed new SSD and installed Windows 10 via USB created with WIndows Media Creation tool.

Everything went super smooth. Everything seems to work, except audio.

I tried installing driver from Realtek site. No joy
Tried installing old Realtek Driver from Asus site (They only list the driver under windows 8 or 7 no 10) no joy.

I am frustrated and do not know how to proceed. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 USB boot

Hi there, am not a windows 10 expert. I have a pc in the bedroom on windows 10, I messed up the bootloader trying to fix the xp on that system.

System wont boot, trying to repair via win 10 usb installer.

Downloaded the media creation tool to install windows 10 installer on usb stick. Not compatible with a host of usb sticks I have. Tried the usb sticks that others use, but I think they use rufus; as the media creation tool by win 10 does not detect the usb stick.

So quick question, the win10 machine i am trying to repair the bootloader is a win7 upgraded to win10.
If i were to use the usb win10 installer to "repair installation" does the version of the iso downloaded via the media creation tool matter?

    There is three options:
    Windows 10
    Windows 10 Home
    Windows 10 N

Also is there a step by step instead of using rufus as I want to try an alternative method of creating a usb win 10 installer. Preferably with more compatibility.

    System is a asus sabertooth 990 (r2?) with AMD phenom X 6.

Also is there any other software I can load onto the usb that can repair the bootloader easily?
That would be the ideal alternative. Thanks

Upgrading from HDD to SSD on Windows 10

    Hi,

I am planning to upgrade my current HDD (on my laptop) to a Samsung Evo SSD and I have some queries regarding the process. I am aware of the whole media creating process but I'd just wanna know if there would be any activation issues. I believe these are
    the steps involved.

    1. Download the media creation tool. (Please confirm which one)

    2. Replace HDD by SSD.

    3. Boot from USB Drive and install on SSD. (It should not ask for a license)

    4. Install all drivers.

Is this it? Did I miss any step?

    Thank you

    Upgrading Internal HDD to SSD

I have a Toshiba Satelite S855 with an internal HDD that I am upgrading to an SSD. The HDD is already running windows 10 from the free upgrade opportunity. Once installed, I want to be booting from the new SSD and the HDD will be a storage drive replacing
the CD bay. I want to do a clean wipe on the HDD.

What would be the best way to ensure that the SSD ends up with windows 10? I've been given a multitude of answers from people but nobody seems to be confident. I've been told to clone the drives then simply wipe the HDD. I've also been told that I should be
able to wipe the HDD, install the SSD in the C drive, and then simply install windows 10 from a USB media device. This is the first time I've done something like this so I just want to be sure in my ways.

So would either of those options work correctly? And if not, how should this be done?

    Thanks!
