  1. upgraded to the newest version but did it wrong

    Hi there,

I recently upgraded my 1607 version to the latest version of Windows but I didn't do it correctly, I did it how one of your techs online showed me how to do it. I did not create a back up nor a bootable copy of the Windows I was installing etc we simply put the media creation tool on my desktop and upgraded it from there. It runs ok, I am having some issues like I've lost the use of my mouse, touchpad etc but nothing major. I would like to know how to downgrade it and do it correctly or if I should at this point? It's an old Toshiba that was running a 32 bit and the upgraded version is a 64 bit I don't know if we did everything correctly, Please help!

    Thanks in advance

    Liza Michelle

Toshiba Satellite S55t-A5237 Originally running windows 8.1 upgraded to windows 10 32bit (when I got it I had no idea it originally was running windows 8.1)

    Stuck in Windows 10 Upgrade

My computer seems to be stuck in a Windows 10 failed upgrade loop. I was running fine on a beta version of Windows 10, and then I came downstairs one morning to see it repeatedly booting, attempting to repair, then rebooting. The steps I've taken to diagnose are:

    • Attempting to boot off a USB drive (with all drives disabled in BIOS) - this fails at the point of the blue windows screen
    • Attempting to boot the machine itself and getting into "repair/safe mode" using F7
    • Looking at the BIOS for obvious failures (e.g. RAM that should be there is missing) - nothing obvious is wrong.

I am fairly certain the build version was 9926. For many months, the system would attempt to upgrade, and then say "it failed" for some reason and roll back.

    Suggestions for next steps?
