Windows 10: Upgraded to Windows 10 Pro Windows Store Purchase & windows is now not activated

Hi All,


Hoping someone is able to help me with this issue as it's driving up the wall.


About a month ago windows would keep saying the build was expiring soon and i needed to upgrade, to upgrade it said i needed to purchase windows 10 pro which i did through the store. After the purchase a whole bunch of updates were installed and the "Your build is expiring soon" window stopped appearing - great i thought.


Until about 2 days later a watermark appeared saying "Activate Windows" which confused me as i just had done the upgrade. I've tried searching & troubleshooting all the solutions but to no avail. I realise that this upgrade should have included a digital key but for some reason it has broken and now i'm left here.


I've ensured that the stores account & sign in account are the same, logged in and out multiple times & completed all updatesa and now i'm stuck.


Any help would be greatful.

Which is good news actually, because Windows 8.1 is loads cheaper than previous versions (retail licensing at Windows 7 OEM prices). And it sort of puts a huge hole in the Windows subscription theory.

If you upgraded to Windows 10 for free and ended up in a non-activated state, try following these steps:

• Select Go to Store, and check to see if a valid license is available for your device. If a license isn't available, you'll need to buy Windows from the Store.

or you could hack it with a crack but please note this is always risky and you don't know what's in the hack
