Windows 10: Upgrading from 1909 to 20H2

Discus and support Upgrading from 1909 to 20H2 in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; I have been wanting to update my PC for a while, I just checked the latest update KB4586786 but seen where it can have issues with licenses being lost....     Upgrading from 1909 to 20H2


    I have been wanting to update my PC for a while, I just checked the latest update KB4586786 but seen where it can have issues with licenses being lost. I'm not entirely sure what all of it is meaning, I get it to a point but not fully. Can someone explain what the issue is with the KB update I listed above? I don't have the ability to reinstall windows as it came pre-loaded onto the PC.


    Is there any other major issues happening or would it be safe to upgrade sometime in the near future? I am waiting more towards the end of 1909s support so things can be resolved but just asking in case it fixes a problem I am having with some games and Nvidia drivers supposedly it's from windows? and decide to upgrade sooner.

    Option to upgrade to 20H2 is not present in 1903

    Hi Daniela,

    Got it, so I should try with upgrading it to 1909 first and see from there after that if it offers me the option to upgrade to 20H2 is that it?

    Updating Win 10 1909 to 20H2 directly, will there be any problems?

    Hi, just got a new ssd installed, and my local vendor installed the 1809 version in my system. I updated the software to 1909 but there is no update for ver 2004 under Update and Security in settings. I couldn't find any update assistant of 2004, but the
    one for 20H2 is available. Is it fine if I directly upgrade to ver 20H2? Will there be any issue or should I upgrade to 2004?

    Upgrading from 1909 to 20H2

    Wu - 1909-2004-20h2

    I just upgraded my desktop PC from v1909 to v2004 and had two issues:

    1. Couldn't log on to Cortana with my usual MS account - Strange Cortana Login Issue
    2. PUA option turned off in Defender settings with the notice this setting is managed by your administrator. Solved by running this file available on the forum Default_allow_set_Windows_Defender_PUA_in_Windows_Security.reg
