Win 10 Preview build 10074 vs. no Get win 10 app... or upgrades

    Hi,

Have been stuck with bulid 10074 for a while now. Got a new Asus i5 with geoforce (installed over a preinst. win 8.1).

Got a link in my email to a ISO file for a upgrade, but it was removed because of the nearby release of win 10. But still, I have no clue to how to get win 10 tomorrow. Please give us the link to a ISO file for install or a solution for preview build 10074.

Also, really dislike the new setup for updates.

    Talking to MS:

(Got two laptops) The Samsung had orginal preinst win 7 (bought and downloaded update to 8.1 from MS) now running win 10 preview. If not clean inst. a reserve should be possible. (I'll check when back from vacation) If not, a reinst. of win 7 is needed.

My newer Asus had win 8.1 preinst., now running build 10074. Will try recovery. If it not works, a reinst. of win 8.1 is needed.

    Hmprf!

Why is'nt win 7 and 8.1 ready for download from MS.com? The prod.key is what matter anyway. Dont understand why its not aviable. Its been bought, it came with the laptop.

    upgrading from win 10 10074 to 10135

As of this moment it is neither an update or upgrade.
Presently, it is a leaked version lurking somewhere in the dark recesses of the internet.

An upgrade to 10130 would be best. I've tried 10135 and it's not worth trying.

  7. I did away with 8.1 and am now using Build 10130 as my primary OS. As others have said, that's where you want to go.

    Really!?
Cuz I'm baffled, 10135 here has got to be the most bug free version yet, this close to RTM.
I'm serious! Everything is working properly with the exception of it not saving your custom themes.

I did a whole bunch of tweaks, upgrades etc. and this copy is damn near flawless! It's really blowin me away!

I'm havin a hard time takin my own word on it! *Wink

I'm like a kid in a candy store with this one!
The whole process to get to where I'm at with it was a little strange though.

One other thing is, I can't verify my identity on this Build, probably cuz it doesn't recognize me as a partner, although my MS account sticks and all is working properly! *Confused

I agree, 10135 has been largely bug free, although I've been finding Edge to be pretty flaky and crashing a lot. I've also had some lockup bugs when copying large amounts of files... but other than that, it's been pretty solid. Oh, and TaskView has been a bit flaky, with it "crashing" and apps going back to the main desktop. That's pretty much it.

Yeah, I have to admit, Spartan is a little bit screwed up here too, as well as a minor glitches in a couple other apps. No biggie though.

  15. Edwin I was also using 10135 the leaked one and all was going fine except I got a message to log into your ms acct. and could not do it. that also prevented me to change to the fast ring. I got worried being so close to RTM that I went back to 10130.
