    Upgrading to a 64-bit version of Windows 10


    I have used the media creation tool to create a 64-bit version of windows 10 and i put it onto a usb drive. When i tried booting my computer with the usb drive by selecting usb-hdd on the boot menu nothing happened and my computer just booted up normally like it always does.


    Could i get any help with this?

    Upgrading to Windows 10 64 bit version

    I own a hp pavilion dv6 2165tx notebook pc.

    I want to upgrade it to Windows 10 64 bit, currently i am using win 10 32 bit version.

    My question is that after upgrading it, will i face any problems regarding drivers?

    As the reason behind my upgrade is, recently i have installed a new ram making my total ram to 6 gb but it shows only 2.99 gb usable. Few of my friends suggested me to upgrade pc to 64 bit version in order to make use of all 6gb.

    Upgrade Windows 10 32-bit to 64-bit.

    You have to do a "clean install" of Win 10 64 bit. There is no "upgrade" process from 32 to 64 bit.

    Did you have Win 7 Home or Pro. There is no "free upgrade" from Win 7 Home to Win 10 Pro. You have to do that upgrade in at least 2 steps:

    Win 7 Home to Pro to Win 10 Pro

    OR

    Win 7 Home to Win 10 Home to Win 10 Pro

    The 32 bit to 64 bit upgrade is a separate additional step.

    Run the WinVer command. What Version and Build do you have?

    If you have Version 1803, many people have reported "accidental" upgrades from Home to Pro by MS. But that "upgrade" doesn't work!
