  1. Upgrading to Windows 10 PRO from Windows 10 Home BOX

Recently I decided I need to upgrade to Windows 10 PRO. It seems that easiest way to do it is through Microsoft Store, but I wasn't able to find some answers.

    1. Price of the upgrade itself isn't that much smaller than new copy of Windows 10 PRO, however I assume that buying it through Microsoft Store I won't have 2 separate licenses but only single one upgraded to PRO?

1.1 If however after this upgrade I will have to licenses how do I use them? I mean I have physical USB stick with Home so that part is easy, but how do I install the second one (some installer downloaded from ms + key?)

    2. What is the type of license that I got after upgrade? Is this still a BOX one (meaning I can use it on other device)?

    3. If I would buy manually win 10 PRO, how easy is to switch it with the one I have on my current PC? I mean can I just switch key in system settings and have Home one available to install on other device or is it more complicated?

    :)

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

    Windows 10 Release Date Announced

Windows 10 Home will be $119, Pro $199.

Microsoft: Windows 10 Home costs $119, Pro costs $199

Which is good news actually, because Windows 8.1 is loads cheaper than previous versions (retail licensing at Windows 7 OEM prices). And it sort of puts a huge hole in the Windows subscription theory.

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/defer-upgrades-in-windows-10

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
