    Hi all. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I will give it a shot. I'm building a new pc and I'm looking for the most cost effective way to get a legal, non-gray-market, Windows 10 licence. My university is selling Windows 8.1 Pro keys at a student discount.

    Can I use a Windows 8.1 key to install Windows 10? I was wondering if I install Windows 10 from external media can I input the Windows 8.1 key when requested on the installation page or could I go the "I don't have a licence" route and input the 8.1 key in the "activation" section in settings after the installation of Windows 10, or do I have to install Windows 8.1 first and then upgrade to 10? Is it still possible to upgrade from older versions of Windows to Windows 10 for free?

    I read through most of that thread and it seems you have to jump through windows insider hoops. Is there a Retail Windows 10 x64 PRO ISO I can download directly from microsoft that my windows 8 key will work with?

    Clean Windows 10 (?PRO?) install

    I have bought a legit "Windows 10 Pro" key of a key website. It is legit since i'm currently using it for over a year now. I currently have Windows 10 Pro installed on my PC and I want to do a clean install. I just can't find the windows 10 Pro download in the tool. But if i could use a windows 10 pro key with a normal windows 10 install, I'll be good to go.
